Training: PROBLEM-SOLVING * YOUNGSTERS

We usually keep our poines for around six months, breaking them and training them for dressage and jumping. They all have experience on the roads, load easily, are fully vaccinated and wormed as shown on their equine passports.

Read on below to find out about current, and past projects as well as more information on our ponies for sale.

Currently in training:

  • Ziggy Stardust, 13.hh Dapple Grey welsh B Gelding 5 year old. Having arrived at the yard completely wild and unhandled Dusty is now working towards his first dressage competition and has started jumping. He is hacking out alone and in company and has experienced busses, tractors and motor bikes. Dusty will hopefully be looking for a new home in the near future.

  • Past Projects:

  • Tae, is a 12.2hh Exmoor gelding who we bought as an extremely green 4 year old. We took him right back to basics, re-breaking him and he turned into a confident and successful pony winning classes at novice level dressage, and 2'6'' showjumping. He was bought from us as a 5 year old and at his first show with his new owners won 3 classes and was reserve champion

    .

  • Harley, is a 15.2hh Trotter x cob gelding, who we bought as a lightly backed 3 year old. We broke him in and brought him on to do novice level dressage and to jump upto 2'9''. He is now in a new home where he will be used for sidesaddle and other competitions.

  • Toby, is a 14hh Fell gelding we bought as a 3 year old and although backed we went back to basics. He competed successfuly at prelim level dressage, and is confidently jumping courses at 2'6" this boldness was also evident in his cross country training. Toby is now a permanent addition to the RDA at West Fenton.

  • Waverhead Rob II, 14hh Fell Gelding (sire to Toby) was bought as a 12 year old Gelding, After being gelded at 8 had done very little ridden work although haveing been very successful at showing in hand as a stallion. His ridden education had mainly been hacking although he had not been riden at all for for the year previous to him coming to us. Although he knew the basics he needed fittening up and had never seen a jump. Rob now has a new home at west fenton where his son Toby is, althouh privatley owned. He entered his first ever showjumping class which he won.
